- A tree fell on a house in Forest Hill Tuesday morning.
Kai Jackson reports it happened in the 1900-block of Cosner Road off of High Point Road.
When firefighters arrived at the scene they found a 80-foot tree on a house. A contractor was attempting to cut down the tree when it fell in the opposite direction.
Two adults and two children were inside when the tree landed. The children, a one-year-old and a three-year-old boy, were taken to Johns Hopkins Children's Center.
One adult, the boys' grandmother, was transported to Upper Chesapeake Hospital. The two children who were inside were taken to Johns Hopkins' pediatric intensive care unit. The injuries are not considered life threatening. The other adult refused treatment.
"The injuries were mainly received by flying debris," said Deputy Chief Dave Williams.
They were lucky on two counts: the house was sturdy and when firemen arrived, they didn't have to wait for a special rescue team, because one of the firefighters was actually a part of that team.
Although the roof collapsed, the house's structure held up the roof.
BGE was called to the scene to disconnect all electric and gas lines. The house has been condemned.
Harford County Social Services is assisting the family.
So, be careful for every family who have home souround by a big tree and stay on guard if storm. And keep care with your children. It's true.
